Well known freeware developer Novaflash has released a brand new mini collection of free instruments and effects for Windows, adding to his already long list of free software releases.”
Some new toys here, description will follow, FX & Synths, sometime a text file is included into the archive. Updates soon!
The VST plugin collection is available for free download via Novaflash (7z archive, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows, made with SynthEdit).
This brand new collection of freebies by Novaflash includes five free instruments and effects for Windows. There aren’t any details available on his website, but I took a few of these for a quick test drive and here are the results.
Puresine (pictured above) is a freeware sine wave synthesizer with some additional features. It comes with a built-in ring modulator and a reverb module. You can get some rather quirky sounds with the ring mod effect, however this instrument can also work well as a pure sine wave generator. For example, you can use it as a sub bass synthesizer and then use the built-in ring mod to add a bit of character to your bass sound.
Ancestor is a vintage organ instrument emulation. It does have a nice sound and features plenty of controls for experimenting with the sound engine.
Camuflage is an enhancer effect optimized for adding character to bass sounds. I didn’t have enough time to test it properly, however it sounded interesting on several kick drums which I processed with it. It adds harmonics and can make a sound more prominent in the mix.
If you download and test any of these plugins, feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! I’d love to hear your opinion!
