Reason 10 comes with the most update since its creation, with two new synthesizers, three organic instruments, an acoustic piano, a creative modulation device and 3 GB of loops and samples.
Europa is a dynamically synthesizer based in wave table that promises ease of use and allows us to apply modulation to the waveform itself as well as spectral filtering and harmonic processing. You can also create your own waveform. (pic above)
Grain incorporates pure granular synthesis for the first time in a native Reason synth. Just drop a sample in Grain, and we can start to select algorithms, modulation, routing and effects to create sounds.
The “organic instruments”, they are an original and exotic touch to give more variety to your library of sounds.
Klang Tuned Percussion includes 10 sampled melodic percussion instruments.
Pangea World Instruments offer 11 world-class instruments.
Humana Vocal Ensemble is a collection of choirs and solo voices “perfect to add a human touch”.
Another novelty is Radical Piano, which promises flexibility and authenticity. It is something that was missing in the native Reason package; before it was only available as a Rack Extension, as a Synchronous Effect Modulator, which also now joins the list of native modules and allows us to mount sidechain effects, as well create our own LFO curves to control filter, delay, reverb, distortion or level.
Also Reason 10 adds 3 GB of samples, both Reason Drum Supply and Reason Loop Supply. They are ReFills with new samples and loops, “from vintage beat boxes to futuristic sounds”.
Ozone Imager, a stereo imaging and analysis tool created by iZotope in 32-bit and 64-bit VST / VST3 / AU / AAX / RTAS formats for PC and Mac. It is based on the Imager component of the Ozone 7 mastering series by iZotope.
The interface offers two sliders to the left and a stereo analyzer with three mode switches to the right. The “Wide” slider simply adjusts the stereo width of the processed signal from -100 (effectively mono) to 100 (twice as wide as the clean signal) and “Stereoizer” slider.
EQuivocate is a 26 band equalizer on the Mel Scale and linear phase developed by Newfangled Audio. The great news is that it is offered as a free download until October 31; just open a free iLok account at www.ilok.com, installing the iLok License Manager without need for a USB dongle.
It is available in VST / AU / AAX for Windows and Mac to 32 and 64-bit.
The interface allows us to draw the EQ curve freely, dragging the mouse, then fine tune more by hand if desired, adjusting the bands. It also offers the “Match EQ” tool, to “copy” equalization of another audio signal.
Sprike is an open source virtual synthesizer (Tunefish4 source code) in 32-bit plug-in and 64-bit VST / AU formats for Windows and Mac OS.
Sprike is an enhanced version of Tunefish4, with several interface settings and additional features that increase compatibility with modern DAWs. Sprike adds four modulation sources, a rearranged preset system that now conforms to MIDI standards and a slightly changed GUI design with a virtual keyboard at the bottom.
Blue Lab Audiointroduces Gain12, a completely free gain plugin in 32-bit and 64-bit VST / VST3 / AU / AAX formats for PC and Mac.
Gain12, is a simple plugin of a single knob, that allows to increase or to attenuate the gain of the channel. You can cut up to -12dB / +12dB, also it offer up to one tenth of a dB, which makes it an alternative to get the right gain in your DAW.
This very simple plugin enables the possibility to make volume automation without locking the faders, for the host software wherein relative volume automation (volume trim) is not available.
SaschArt introduced MultiCrusher, a freeware multi-mode distortion effect in 32-bit and 64-bit VST / AU plugin formats for both PC and Mac.
MultiCrusher is a distortion effect with five different algorithms. The plugin comes with two distortion slots, the first with fat, overdrive, overdrive weak and decimator algorithms, and the second with clip and foldback. The first three algorithms come with the quantity control parameter, while the foldback / clipper algorithm offers gain, threshold, and multiply settings.
The lower part of the interface has anti-aliasing, round, pan and mix control parameters.
It is currently available as a VST and AU plug-in for 32- and 64-bit host applications on Windows and Mac.
Unlimited, is a mastering limiter in 32-bit and 64-bit VST format for Windows.
Developed by the Sonic Anomaly team you will have a high quality limiter / limiter effect for stereo or 5.1 surround projects. It offers RMS meters and an ITU-R BS.1770 compliant loudness meter for monitoring the signal loudness on the output.
If you are looking for a good free compressor to add to your arsenal of plugins, Analog Obsession team has launched Fetish, a FET compressor in 32-bit and 64-bit VST / AU / AAX plug-in formats for PC and Mac.
The design of this plugin features the same control and design scheme as legendary 1176LN Limiter Amplifier. It is a classic FET compressor / limiter design with input / output gain settings, time and release buttons and the compression ratio switch (range 1: 4 to 1:20); all knobs arranged in a simple graphical interface.
Fetish is a versatile tool that can be used for subtle compression and excessive limitation, a worthy emulation for those looking for a freeware plugin with good analog character.
For all lovers of chiptune sounds, especially those of the Sega Master System; SocaLabs introduces SN76489, a free virtual instrument in VST and AU that emulates the Sega sound chip and other similar video game consoles: the Texas Instruments SN76489. Which is in the Sega Master System and other similar game consoles from 80s and 90s.
The plugin has three monophonic pulse oscillators (three voices in total) and one noise oscillator with adjustable noise type (periodic and white). The user can change the volume of each sound source and also noise speed control oscillator.
It also offers a waveform display in the center of the interface in real time.
SN76489 emulates the sonic feature of the “lo-fi” sound chip delivering authentic raw sound very difficult to find on other synthesizers.
It is available as a VST and Audio Unit plugin for PC and Mac 32-bit and 64-bit.
Graillon 2 freeis a freeware version of its new real-time tone change effect and tone correction effect for both PC and Mac.
This version is almost identical to the complete product, except that it does not include the PTM sections “Pitch Modulation Tracking and bitcrushing. Likewise, Graillon 2 free is one of the best freeware auto-tune plugin on the market. Its characteristics make it stand out from the rest, if you want those features you can consider the purchase of Graillon 2 for € 29.
Check promo below.
Graillon is the best freeware alternative to Auto-Tune effects, especially for users who need a real-time plugin not complicated. It sounds very natural in their pitch shifting, in addition it can produce more extreme results. The option to preserve formants in the processed signal is a good feature that changes the signal to sound more human. The increase of the dry mix signal can be used to achieve harmonization and duplication effects, which is very useful
when processing the voice.
Comes with a larger GUI with a slightly different design to the first version. The old tone modulation section is now placed at the top, with new pitch and offset correction tools placed at the bottom of the interface. The display shows the tone and waveform of the input signal in real time, as well as a dry / wet knob.
