99Sounds sound design label has released Rumore Cinematic Impacts, a free collection of high quality impact sound effects crafted by Alessandro Alcinesio aka HAL9K.

The library contains a collection of 50 impact sound effects designed for use in electronic music and blockbuster movie style soundtracks. The included samples range from classic bass heavy sonic booms to spooky sound effects inspired by sci-fi and horror flicks. One of my favorite hits from this pack though is the one labeled The Deepest Boom, which works absolutely great for fattening up the lowest bass frequencies in a track.

One particularly interesting thing about these sounds is that they can be easily transformed into great sounding risers and swooshes, just by reversing the audio files. You can hear this effect in action in the demo track which is embedded  below. The swooshes which you can hear in the audio demo are actually impact sounds which have been reversed.

All included samples are available for use in both commercial and non-commercial musical compositions, however they can’t be used as part of another sound library or virtual instrument.

This free sample collection is the second Artist Series release on 99Sounds, following last week’s The Weird Side Samples glitchy sound effect library by Introspectral. Feel free to get in touch through the contact page on 99Sounds if you’d like to publish your own work on the site!

By the way, if you’re a fan of BPB or 99sounds, it would be awesome if you could help me spread the word about this free sample library by sharing it on your favorite social networks! Thank you!

The Rumore Cinematic Impacts product page linked below also features an interesting interview withHAL9K, in which he talks a bit more about his approach to sound design, as well as some of his recent projects as a musician and music producer. You can also check out his sound design skills if you watch the SPACEMAN video embedded on the product page (I also highly recommend his DAYDREAM video, which can be spooky as hell if you use headphones for listening).
